The Dream Syndicate opened tours for R.E.M. and U2 and released the five-song live LP, This Is Not The New Dream Syndicate Album...Live!, the last record to feature Precoda on guitar (he left soon afterward to pursue a career in screenwriting) and the first appearance of bassist Mark Walton. It was recorded live at the Aragon, Chicago, Il., July 7, 1984.
